Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Murphy

March 15th, 2022

Mrs. Indhira Murphy, who is in her second year at Southern Prep, has been a remarkable addition to our faculty. Her passion for creative classroom teaching, pushing students beyond what they believe is possible, and her cheerfulness, make Mrs. Murphy a game-changer on campus.

What is your personal philosophy?
“Success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in a peoples’ lives!”

What does true leadership mean to you?
“Being a positive role model for our cadets, maintaining good order and discipline, inspiring our cadets to live meaningful lives and to have integrity, optimism, hope, determination and compassion.”

What is your favorite thing about working at Southern Prep?
“While the enforcement of rules and standards is critical; it’s also using positive leadership in the classroom to ensure each cadet has the life tools needed to succeed.”

Mrs. Murphy is not just a star in her classroom, but in athletics as well. When she is not teaching Spanish to her high schoolers or science & language to her middle schoolers, she can be found coaching our country cross team and our middle school basketball team.

Before joining the Ranger Family, Mrs. Murphy spent 20 years in United States Army, and retired as a Sergeant Major. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from the University of Texas, El Paso. We blessed to have her on the team!
