TUITION AND AFFORDABILITY

At Southern Prep, we proudly provide an exceptional education rooted in the principles of military structure and discipline. We understand that investing in your son’s education can initially seem overwhelming, but rest assured, the value he will gain at our Academy extends far beyond the classroom. We work daily to instill discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of character, preparing our students for success in both academic and personal endeavors.

The tuition fee covers instruction, room and board, and a $300 technology fee that will cover the costs associated with the rental of a school-owned Chromebook, wireless internet, and other technological devices. It does not include spending money, special medical care beyond the facilities of the infirmary, driver’s education, flying lessons, airport transportation, or willful destruction of property.

Our 2024-2025 tuition information can be accessed below.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out to a member of our Admissions Team at 256-790-9202 or 256-496-8864.

Boarding Students

Boarding students at Southern Preparatory Academy experience a rigorous academic and military program. They live on campus, free from the distractions and temptations found in public and day schools. Cadets participate in daily activities, and are involved in athletics, extracurriculars, and all Corps-related events. Military boarding structure provides an environment for students to learn self-discipline.

Day Students

Day students will benefit from the same rigorous academic and military programs as our boarding students. Initially, they must complete a 21-day on-campus Scrub period. Afterward, they will attend from 8:00 am to 3:45 pm CST on weekdays. Throughout the year, participation in athletics, extracurricular activities, and all Corps-related events, including weekend parades, is mandatory.

International Students

Exposure to new cultures is crucial for a well-rounded education. Southern Prep offers a welcoming, transformative experience in a military boarding environment. Located on a 320-acre campus in Central Alabama, we provide a safe setting for students from around the world. With students from four different countries and partnerships with international educational agencies, we offer a unique global perspective.

IN-HOUSE TUITION REDUCTIONS
