Southern Prep Academy offers a preparatory curriculum grounded in academic excellence and personalized learning. Students pursue one of several diploma tracks, which are designed to support individual goals and aspirations.
The Honors Pathway is designed for high-achieving, motivated students seeking a challenging high school experience. This path is ideal for those aspiring to attend highly selective and prestigious post-secondary institutions.
Students engage in advanced coursework with complexity and pace. This pathway encourages independent thinking, research, and development to help you distinguish yourself in competitive admissions processes.
Honors students complete an advanced project requiring substantial independent research and critical analysis. These projects reflect top-tier scholarship and may include original research or community impact initiatives.
This pathway is intended for students planning to attend two-year or four-year colleges and universities. We focus on creating and supporting well-rounded, competitive applicants for a wide range of post-secondary institutions, including service academies.
Coursework meets and exceeds college admission requirements. You will engage in a rigorous academic program that emphasizes critical thinking, analytical writing, research skills, and advanced preparation in mathematics and science.
Seniors complete a culminating experience that involves in-depth research, formal presentations, or interdisciplinary analysis. This project is often connected to a prospective college major, proving you are ready for the next level of scholarship.
This pathway is designed for students focused on building practical skills and preparing for life immediately after high school. Whether you are entering the workforce, pursuing a trade or vocational program, or enlisting in the military, this pathway supports your transition to career readiness.
Students complete all graduation requirements while gaining real-world skills. The curriculum emphasizes career exploration and the foundational knowledge needed for success in apprenticeships, technical certification programs, and skilled trades.
In your senior year, you will complete a project aligned with your specific goals. This may include an internship, portfolio development, or certification preparation, ensuring you graduate with a clear plan for your next steps.
Every month, Southern Prep focuses on a key character trait—such as empathy, resilience, or integrity—woven into classroom discussions, homeroom periods, and service opportunities. This intentional rhythm fosters personal growth and moral development in every student.
Fridays are designed with flexibility and enrichment in mind. Students can engage in hands-on labs, service projects, cross-course collaboration, real world application, and more! Flex Fridays offer space for deeper learning, creativity, and connection beyond the traditional classroom.
Our monthly chapel services (in addition to the Sunday services) provide a shared space for reflection, prayer, and inspiration. These gatherings nurture spiritual formation, build community, and invite students to explore purpose, faith, and values in a meaningful environment. They also serve as a possible intersection for the character trait emphasized each month, as well as a time for prayer for local, national, and global issues and events, including our region focus of the year.
Each year, Southern Prep spotlights a different global region to cultivate cultural awareness and global citizenship. It gives classes chances to foster awareness and collaboration through cross-curricular activities and projects. This gives students an opportunity to explore the region’s history, literature, innovations, and real world contemporary challenges.
