Our overarching objective is to safeguard the legacy of our unique academy for another 127 years, profoundly impacting the lives of young men and their families. This fund will be directed towards addressing the most pressing needs of the school, with 2% allocated to the Endowment Fund.

The Annual Fund exists to support the daily life of the academy. This includes assistance with the operating budget, purchase of materials, interactive learning opportunities for cadets, hands-on training for various projects, professional development, and the recruitment of new cadets. Under the Alabama Accountability Act of 2013, Alabama taxpayers can donate up to 100% of their state income tax liability to Scholarships for Kids. Scholarships for Kids is a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) that exists to take private donations and award scholarships to low-income students to attend schools like Southern Prep! Southern Prep students in need of tuition assistance receive these tax credit scholarships. And you get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for your donation, meaning you reduce the total amount of your state tax bill by up to 100%. Click here for more tax credit scholarship information.
Established in 2021, the annual Board of Trustees Banquet is a testament to our community’s commitment to the well-being of our cadets and the sustainability of our Academy. Each year, we surpass milestones, raising funds and forging connections with new friends who share our vision.
