Again, saddened by the loss of another of our LWMA family, I must share that Captain John Strunk, formerly of the faculty, has passed away at his home in Harriman, TN.  He was primarily the foreign languages teacher (Spanish and French) for about nine years (since 1967), but he also served as the band director and sponsored and chaperoned summer European travel for cadets for several years. He also taught private piano to cadets and others while he was living in faculty quarters (“The Sandbox”) on the LWMA campus.  Even though he taught Spanish for 30 more years after LWMA and retired about two years ago, he continued to teach Spanish in one of the high schools as well as at one of the public community colleges in the Harriman area. May he rest in peace.
