Southern Prep will welcome first responders from East & Central Alabama to campus this week. Since returning last month, our cadets have been preparing for their first official military parade of the school year. The parade will honor first responders–those who put their lives on the line to protect and enhance our way of life.
At Southern Prep, we appreciate and admire the sacrifice and selflessness of first responders. When others run away, first responders run towards those in need. The ability to put his or her own life on the line for others is an extraordinary example of human compassion. That is why we at Southern Prep believe first responders deserve to be celebrated and embraced by their community.
On Thursday, we anticipate Southern Prep’s campus to have many visitors: Alabama state legislators, community leaders and members, and first responders. Together, we will celebrate and honor the hard work and sacrifice of our first responders. We are especially excited to welcome back alumni who are now first responders. We are so proud of them.
Join us on September 10th at 10AM for Southern Prep’s 2nd Annual First Responders Parade, and 9/11 remembrance. City and county police officers, as well as firefighters and emergency medical personnel from across Alabama have been invited to attend. We are honored that Alabama’s Speaker of the House, Mac McCutcheon, has agreed to serve as this year’s keynote speaker for the military parade that our cadets will perform.
