Why I Give: Dave Thompson, ’73

November 10th, 2020

I was asked why I donate to support Southern Prep. I have thought about this for about a week. The answer is actually quite simple.  I give to pay back a very small portion of a great debt owed to a great institution, I give to give another Cadet the same chance that I had.  My years at Southern Preparatory Academy molded me into the man I am today.

There are many ways to give.  Money is good and helps with everything.  The gift of supplies helps with everyday expenses. For example if you see copy paper on sale, order case to be delivered to Southern Prep. Give an item to be auctioned off. Talk up the Academy.  We all know that word of mouth is the best form of advertising.

Why do I give? Because I want my “Dear old Mother” to last forever!
