Reverend Von McQueen Awarded President’s Medal at Military Day Parade

Reverend McQueen is a 1966 graduate of Lyman Ward Military Academy. His brother Mike, who passed in 2020, was a 1967 graduate of the Academy.

Rev. McQueen was born and raised in Mountain Brook, Alabama. After graduation, he attended Ole Miss and studied English, political science, and sociology. He attended the Cumberland School of Law and earned his degree.

He practiced law until he was called into ministry. From there, he attended Southwestern Theological Seminary and finished at the New Orleans Theological Baptist Center. Rev. McQueen also served in the Alabama National Guard.

Rev. McQueen has been a loyal supporter of the academy and a strong advocate for the importance of developing young men with spiritual integrity. He joined the Board of Trustees and contributed greatly for many years. He is dearly loved by his classmates.

Reverend McQueen’s favorite quote is Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
