Our co-ed summer school program offers a four-week, in-class session where students can earn one (1) credit hour. Open to both boarding and day students entering grades 9th through 12th in Fall 2025, this program is designed for ambitious learners.
Students will engage in challenging coursework and benefit from supervised evening study halls. Beyond academics, students can enjoy exciting activities after school and on weekends.
No, Southern Prep’s Academic Recovery Program is open to new students. In fact, the majority of our Summer Advancement Academy students are not currently enrolled at the academy.
YES, Southern Prep is fully accredited through the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA).
Short answer, YES, credits earned at Southern Prep will transfer out. We suggest checking with your child’s current school first to ensure they will accept credits from another institution.
Tuition for Summer Advancement Academy includes one (1) credit hour earned; room & board, meals, one (1) off campus weekend trip, technology fee, and uniform rental fee (5 t-shirts, 1 polo, 5 gym shorts).
Southern Preparatory Academy has two dormitories equipped with beds, lockers, desks, and bathrooms.
Monday through Friday, your child will be in the classroom from 8:30am to 3:30pm. In the afternoons and on weekends, your child will be under the care of our TAC Officers (Teach, Advise, Counsel).
