Southern Prep Academy has been closely following the AISA Board of Directors’ announcement that it will conclude its interscholastic athletic program at the end of the 2026-27 school year.
We want our families to know that this is an exciting time for Southern Prep athletics. Nothing changes for our student-athletes this school year. Our teams will continue to compete in AISA through 2026-27, and our coaches and programs remain strong and committed.
Looking ahead, we are following the development of the Gulf States Independent Athletic Association (GSIAA), a new association being built specifically for private school athletics. As the landscape takes shape, we will evaluate our options with our students in mind. We’re looking for an association that shares our values, offers opportunities to compete in multiple sports against quality programs, and provides a healthy competitive balance.
Our student body comes from across the country and around the world, and we are eager to give them the best possible opportunities to compete, grow, and represent Southern Prep with pride.
We will share more with our families as decisions are made.
