All students must maintain good personal hygiene, including regular bathing, oral care, and grooming. Hair color must appear natural to human hair (black, brown, blonde, auburn, or gray). Unnatural colors, including purple, blue, green, pink, and neon shades, are not permitted. Students may wear natural hairstyles, including braids, twists, locs, cornrows, and other protective styles, provided they are clean, neat, and well-maintained. Extreme hairstyles or distracting designs, including shaved patterns, graphics, symbols, words, or images, are prohibited. Fingernails must be clean and maintained at a moderate length. The Academy will provide an on campus barber; however, should a student wish to have someone different cut their hair that financial responsibility will be on the parent.

• Male Student Standards: Hair may extend to the collar, but not below, and may touch the ears when maintained in a neat and professional manner. Hair must not obstruct vision, create a safety hazard, interfere with the proper wear of uniforms, headgear, or required safety equipment, or appear unkempt. Hair must be styled to allow clear vision and may not cover the eyes or face. Students must be clean-shaven. Mustaches are permitted if neatly trimmed, conservative in appearance, and do not extend beyond the corners of the mouth or cover the upper lip. Beards and goatees are not permitted.

• Female Student Standards: Hair must be clean, neatly styled, and maintained in a manner that does not obstruct the eyes or face. Simple hair accessories are permitted provided they are conservative, non-distracting, and complement the school uniform. Modest hair accessories in school colors are permitted. Makeup, if worn, should be minimal and natural in appearance.
