A Letter from Summer Camp Director

Session one of Leadership Camp 2020 is off to a great start!

Over the past week, our campers have hiked Smith Mountain, swam Lake Martin, taken night fishing excursions, toured the Horseshoe Bend Battlefield, safely fired live ammunition, played force-on-force paintball, learned how to move silently in the woods, flown in a real airplane, and used our flight simulator… and it’s only the end of week one!

Behind all the fun and camaraderie, something else is quietly sweeping through our young Rangers, conversations about why we do the things we do and realization that there is so much more outside of the walls we build around ourselves. Lifelong friendships are being formed and life changes are occurring every day. Future legacies are getting their roots as young men and are overcoming challenges. Leaders are breaking out. This year’s motto is “leadership through personal growth,” and each day we see more of it in our next generation as they commit themselves to finding their purpose and living in it.
