March 28, 2025
Beginning in the summer of 2025 and the 2025-2026 school year, Southern Prep is expanding! We are opening our campus to male and female day students in grades 7-12. While boarding will remain male-only and military-based, day students (male & female) will have the option to participate in our military program—but it is not required.
Academics First, with Optional Military Training
Southern Prep is an academically driven, faith-based institution where students receive a private, college-preparatory education. Military participation is required for our male boarding students, but is optional for day students—those who choose not to take JROTC or join the Corps of Cadets will still benefit from a structured learning environment, rigorous curriculum, and small class sizes.
For those who do opt into the military experience, our program goes beyond academics, shaping students into confident and responsible leaders through JROTC courses, leadership training, drills, and parades. However, we are not a reform school—our program is designed for students who seek leadership development, direction, and a sense of duty.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to become FAA-certified drone pilots, gaining valuable skills for future careers in aviation and technology.
Diploma Options:
- Standard Diploma
- Honors Diploma
- College-Bound Diploma (with optional ROTC track)
- Military Diploma
These pathways ensure that all students graduate enrolled, employed, or enlisted—fully prepared for their next step in life.
